BRITISH CANOEING COASTAL NAVIGATION AND TIDAL PLANNING (CNTP) $125*

This one day, hands on, classroom-based course is designed for paddlers carrying out coastal journeys, including islands up to two nautical miles offshore in areas of tidal movement up to up to two knots and winds of up to force four. Participants will develop both competency and confidence journey planning using navigational resources from the United Kingdom and North America. This course is a must for paddlers interested in refining their coastal planning skills, and/or for those pursuing the British Canoeing Sea Leader Award (old 4 Star Leader), as it is a pre-requisite for Sea Leader Training. Course Prerequisites:
While there are no formal pre-requisites participates are encouraged to be familiar with basic navigational tools (charts/maps, hikers compass). For those interested in obtaining a CNTP award from British Canoeing there is an additional charge ($20.00 for Paddlesports North America members/ $40.00 for non-members).

- Comfortable clothing
- Participants are encouraged to bring any trip planning tools that they use frequently.
