Erie Canal/Mohawk River Kayak Camping Itinerary

Each participant will carry their own gear in true kayak camping fashion. Participants should have some kayaking experience and be able to paddle 10 miles per day. The pace will be relaxed, but you’ll still need some endurance. Kayaks should be a minimum of 12 ft. long (14’ recommended). Tents, and kayaks are available for rent on a limited basis. (Additional cost). Life vests must be worn at all times while on the water.

Meet at Ilion town launch and unload all gear
Shuttle cars to Canajoharie
Paddle from Ilion to Little Falls
Set up camp
Walking exploration of Little Falls and dinner at local restaurant
July 9
Breakfast in Little Falls
Paddle to St. Johnsville
Set up camp
Dinner at local restaurant and walking exploration of the town
July 10
Breakfast in St. Johnsville
