WHAT TO PACK
- Layers of light to mid-weight non-cotton clothing, synthetic or wool preferred, even socks and underwear, bathing suit. No jeans for paddling! For hot weather, think cool clothes that protect from the sun and dry fast. For cool weather, think layers.
- Solid closed-toe water shoes with a secure heel for walking in water (no flip flops). Launching and landing will require it.
- Hiking shoes or sneakers for in camp and exploration
- Personal toiletries sealed in a ziploc bag (toothpaste, toothbrush, soap, shampoo, lip balm, medications, deodorant, sunscreen (50+SPF recommended), and bug repellent.
- Camp towel
- Synthetic jacket or pullover
- Poncho or waterproof jacket layer and lightweight rain pant in case of an inclement day.
- Synthetic material socks because dry feet are happy feet
- Hats
- Sleeping bag for summer
- Sunglasses with an eyewear retainer strap
- Spare glasses or contact lenses (if needed)
- 3 water bottles (1 liter each)
- Headlamp and/or small flashlight(s) with spare batteries
- Phone or camera and spare batteries or charger (There will be power sources available)
- Adult beverages if you would like to have something post-paddle.
- Binoculars (optional)
- Camera (waterproof or in waterproof case/bag)
- Dry bag (5L and 15-20L recommended)
- Hand sanitizer
